Cafeteria Chronicles: Baldwin County School District (Milledgeville, GA)

With the help of Healthy Meals Incentives (HMI) grant funds, the school nutrition team at Baldwin County School District began cultivating fresh produce in their student greenhouse and aquaponics program. After incorporating school-grown produce into their school meals, the district was able to lower their food cost and improve the nutrition of their menu. The district also partnered with the Georgia Department of Education to train nutrition staff in scratch cooking efforts, resulting in new recipes that students love!
